Jackie started her career in horticulture in 1983 growing perennials as cut flowers on a farm in York, Maine that she sold to local florists. She returned to school to study landscape architecture and her focus turned to building her landscape design, construction and fine gardening business. In 1994 Jackie bought the farm and started her wholesale greenhouse operation, The Flower Company, which specializes in growing uncommon annuals, tender perennials and tropical plants that have proven successful in seasonal plantings. In 2009 the fields were opened to grow organic vegetables until 2016 when the farm transitioned to growing just flowers bringing Jackie back to her first love.
